List of repositories

Here you can see a list of repositories with descriptions (and, of course, you can add your repository here, too)

arch-core (formerly known as arch-current)

This repository contains all packages from archlinux' core - it is maintained by the developers of archlinux. Archlinux developers do not sign their packages, so all packages of archlinux repositories are unsigned.

arch-extra

This repository contains all packages from archlinux extra - maintained by the developers of archlinux, too

arch-testing

This repository contains packages from archlinux testing - early versions of packages not tested enough to be included in current or extra yet

arch-unstable

Much like arch-testing - I'm not sure which criteria are used to decide if package goes to arch-testing or unstable

arch-community

This repository is the community repository of archlinux, maintained by trusted users of archlinux based on PKGBUILDs contributed by users of archlinux, who posted their PKGBUILDs on AUR

arch-kdemod

This repository contains the packages from http://www.kdemod.ath.cx/

aur-*

These repositories contain the PKGBUILDs posted on AUR - these repositories are not signed and AUR is open to anyone. So use these PKGBUILDs with caution (however, I don't know a single case where someone posted malicious code on AUR)

aur-attic

This repository is a bit special. It contains PKGBUILDs removed from AUR. There are several reasons why PKGBUILDs are removed from AUR, the package could be moved to another repository like arch-community or even arch-current or arch-extra, the PKGBUILD could have contained malicious code, or the PKGBUILD could just be unwanted by the more powerful users/developers of archlinux. For some reason the PKGBUILDs removed from AUR are still available, and therfore we give you the freedom to use them anyway. But keep in mind, somebody removed them for some reason, you probably want to have a look at the PKGBUILD before using it.

blackpenguin

This repository is maintained by Nicolai Lissner aka 'blackpenguin' on irc.freenode.org - It contains packages of all kind he missed in other repsositories with some focus on audio-applications - especially audio applications using jack.

comamain

This repository is not human revised and therefore the packages are not signed. It is based on a script that tries to build packages using a standard way of building autoconf packages: ./configure --prefix=/usr && make && make DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg install . If this builds successful, the script adds the package to this repository. The resulting binaries are not tested in any way, but since many packages build successful with this standard set of commands, they might work. Since the actual maintaining is done by script, you will find update for this packages very early after being released.

gtx

This repository is maintained by Gottox on irc.freenode.org. Gottox publishes PKGBUILDs only, so all packages here are src-only.

gtx_vdr

This repository is maintained by Gottox on irc.freenode.org. Gottox publishes PKGBUILDs only, so all packages here are src-only.
